Engineering Inspiration Award
We were Bayou Regional Engineering Inspiration Award winners this past weekend. The Engineering Inspiration Award "celebrates outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering within a team’s school or organization and community." This is one of the highest honors a team can receive at a regional event and awards the recipient team a spot at the 2016 FIRST World Championship in St. Louis. In addition the team that earns this award is given a $5,000 grant from NASA to pay for their Championship registration fee. We are honored to have been chosen for this award by the judges at the event.

Regional Finalist
In addition to the Engineering Inspiration Award. Spectrum was also Regional Finalist at the Bayou Regional. We were chosen by the #2 alliance captain FRC#3841 Bronc Botz from San Antonio to be the 2nd robot on their alliance. We then picked FRC#5819 Mecha Makos from Key Biscayne, FL. We formed a strong alliance and worked our way to the finals. We lost a close finals round to three very qualified teams and the final match came down to only 3 points. Here is a video of one of our semifinal rounds. |
