Championship

Spectrum won Judges' Award on our division at champs. This is a huge honor and our first award at the Championship level.

We had a great time playing on the Tesla field. There were some very good matches on our field this year. We recorded nearly all of them and are uploading them to YouTube through out the week.

We also recorded the award ceremonies and Einstein matches and will have those uploaded soon as well.

On the field it was also our first time being selected to a Championship playoff alliance. Our good friends FRC#2481 Roboteers and FRC#624 CRyptonite picked us to be on their #1 seeded alliance. We didn't see the field during the playoffs because we were in our pit getting retrofitted for can burgler duty while our alliance played in the quarter finals. Due to some technical problems we weren't able to advance to the semifinals where our robot would have gotten to help try to move our alliance on Einstein.

In the end one of our favorite teams in FIRST, FRC#118 The Robonauts, took home the World Championship trophy for the first time in their long and storied history. They were accompanied by their alliance parterns FRC#1678, FRC#1671, and FRC#5012. We couldn't be more happy for the Robonauts one of the best run programs in FRC and some of our best friends, happy to have gotten to root for them to victory and cheer with them in celebration. 118 and 1678 and two great examples of teams who have made excellence their goal and achieved it. They both shining examples of what an FRC team should be.

Judges' Award

Spectrum was awarded the Judges' Award at the 2015 FIRST Championship event for the Archimedes-Tesla Division. The judges' believed that our team deserved special recognition for our efforts in the community to encourage young girls to pursue STEM and our support of the greater FRC community.

This is our first ever Championship award, only 60 total awards are given at the Championship event that included 600 of the best teams from around the world.

Championship Event

Spectrum had a great time at the Championship event. The team performed well ranking 31 out of 75 teams in the Tesla division. We were selected by the #1 alliance of #2481 Roboteers and #624 CRyptonite, to be their third partner. Our alliance had a lot of potential but due to some technical troubles was eliminated in the quarter finals.
